| CVE-2021-21343 | 6 Apache, Debian, Fedoraproject and 3 more | 15 Activemq, Jmeter, Debian Linux and 12 more | 2025-05-23 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 5.3 MEDIUM |
| XStream is a Java library to serialize objects to XML and back again. In XStream before version 1.4.16, there is a vulnerability where the processed stream at unmarshalling time contains type information to recreate the formerly written objects. XStream creates therefore new instances based on these type information. An attacker can manipulate the processed input stream and replace or inject objects, that result in the deletion of a file on the local host. No user is affected, who followed the recommendation to setup XStream's security framework with a whitelist limited to the minimal required types. If you rely on XStream's default blacklist of the Security Framework, you will have to use at least version 1.4.16. | |||||

XStream creates therefore new instances based on these type information. An attacker can manipulate the processed input stream and replace or inject objects, that result in a server-side forgery request. No user is affected, who followed the recommendation to setup XStream's security framework with a whitelist limited to the minimal required types. If you rely on XStream's default blacklist of the Security Framework, you will have to use at least version 1.4.16. | |||||

| XStream is a Java library to serialize objects to XML and back again. In XStream before version 1.4.16, there is vulnerability which may allow a remote attacker to allocate 100% CPU time on the target system depending on CPU type or parallel execution of such a payload resulting in a denial of service only by manipulating the processed input stream. No user is affected who followed the recommendation to setup XStream's security framework with a whitelist limited to the minimal required types. If you rely on XStream's default blacklist of the Security Framework, you will have to use at least version 1.4.16. | |||||

| CVE-2013-7285 | 3 Apache, Oracle, Xstream | 3 Activemq, Endeca Information Discovery Studio, Xstream | 2025-05-23 | 7.5 HIGH | 9.8 CRITICAL |
| Xstream API versions up to 1.4.6 and version 1.4.10, if the security framework has not been initialized, may allow a remote attacker to run arbitrary shell commands by manipulating the processed input stream when unmarshaling XML or any supported format. e.g. JSON. | |||||
| CVE-2020-26217 | 5 Apache, Debian, Netapp and 2 more | 15 Activemq, Debian Linux, Snapmanager and 12 more | 2025-05-23 | 9.3 HIGH | 8.0 HIGH |
| XStream before version 1.4.14 is vulnerable to Remote Code Execution. The vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to run arbitrary shell commands only by manipulating the processed input stream. Only users who rely on blocklists are affected. Anyone using XStream's Security Framework allowlist is not affected. The linked advisory provides code workarounds for users who cannot upgrade. The issue is fixed in version 1.4.14. | |||||
| CVE-2024-32114 | 1 Apache | 1 Activemq | 2025-02-11 | N/A | 8.5 HIGH |
| In Apache ActiveMQ 6.x, the default configuration doesn't secure the API web context (where the Jolokia JMX REST API and the Message REST API are located). It means that anyone can use these layers without any required authentication. Potentially, anyone can interact with the broker (using Jolokia JMX REST API) and/or produce/consume messages or purge/delete destinations (using the Message REST API). To mitigate, users can update the default conf/jetty.xml configuration file to add authentication requirement: <bean id="securityConstraintMapping" class="org.eclipse.jetty.security.ConstraintMapping"> <property name="constraint" ref="securityConstraint" /> <property name="pathSpec" value="/" /> </bean> Or we encourage users to upgrade to Apache ActiveMQ 6.1.2 where the default configuration has been updated with authentication by default. | |||||
| CVE-2020-1941 | 2 Apache, Oracle | 7 Activemq, Communications Diameter Signaling Router, Communications Element Manager and 4 more | 2024-11-21 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 6.1 MEDIUM |
| In Apache ActiveMQ 5.0.0 to 5.15.11, the webconsole admin GUI is open to XSS, in the view that lists the contents of a queue. | |||||
| CVE-2020-13947 | 2 Apache, Oracle | 3 Activemq, Communications Session Report Manager, Communications Session Route Manager | 2024-11-21 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 6.1 MEDIUM |
| An instance of a cross-site scripting vulnerability was identified to be present in the web based administration console on the message.jsp page of Apache ActiveMQ versions 5.15.12 through 5.16.0. | |||||
| CVE-2020-13920 | 3 Apache, Debian, Oracle | 4 Activemq, Debian Linux, Communications Diameter Signaling Router and 1 more | 2024-11-21 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 5.9 MEDIUM |
| Apache ActiveMQ uses LocateRegistry.createRegistry() to create the JMX RMI registry and binds the server to the "jmxrmi" entry. It is possible to connect to the registry without authentication and call the rebind method to rebind jmxrmi to something else. If an attacker creates another server to proxy the original, and bound that, he effectively becomes a man in the middle and is able to intercept the credentials when an user connects. Upgrade to Apache ActiveMQ 5.15.12. | |||||
| CVE-2020-11998 | 2 Apache, Oracle | 7 Activemq, Communications Diameter Signaling Router, Communications Element Manager and 4 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.5 HIGH | 9.8 CRITICAL |
| A regression has been introduced in the commit preventing JMX re-bind. By passing an empty environment map to RMIConnectorServer, instead of the map that contains the authentication credentials, it leaves ActiveMQ open to the following attack: https://docs.oracle.com/javase/8/docs/technotes/guides/management/agent.html "A remote client could create a javax.management.loading.MLet MBean and use it to create new MBeans from arbitrary URLs, at least if there is no security manager. In other words, a rogue remote client could make your Java application execute arbitrary code." Mitigation: Upgrade to Apache ActiveMQ 5.15.13 | |||||
| CVE-2019-10241 | 4 Apache, Debian, Eclipse and 1 more | 7 Activemq, Drill, Debian Linux and 4 more | 2024-11-21 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 6.1 MEDIUM |
| In Eclipse Jetty version 9.2.26 and older, 9.3.25 and older, and 9.4.15 and older, the server is vulnerable to XSS conditions if a remote client USES a specially formatted URL against the DefaultServlet or ResourceHandler that is configured for showing a Listing of directory contents. | |||||
| CVE-2019-0222 | 4 Apache, Debian, Netapp and 1 more | 8 Activemq, Debian Linux, E-series Santricity Web Services and 5 more | 2024-11-21 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
| In Apache ActiveMQ 5.0.0 - 5.15.8, unmarshalling corrupt MQTT frame can lead to broker Out of Memory exception making it unresponsive. | |||||
| CVE-2019-0201 | 5 Apache, Debian, Netapp and 2 more | 11 Activemq, Drill, Zookeeper and 8 more | 2024-11-21 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 5.9 MEDIUM |
| An issue is present in Apache ZooKeeper 1.0.0 to 3.4.13 and 3.5.0-alpha to 3.5.4-beta. ZooKeeper’s getACL() command doesn’t check any permission when retrieves the ACLs of the requested node and returns all information contained in the ACL Id field as plaintext string. DigestAuthenticationProvider overloads the Id field with the hash value that is used for user authentication. As a consequence, if Digest Authentication is in use, the unsalted hash value will be disclosed by getACL() request for unauthenticated or unprivileged users. | |||||
| CVE-2018-8006 | 1 Apache | 1 Activemq | 2024-11-21 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 6.1 MEDIUM |
| An instance of a cross-site scripting vulnerability was identified to be present in the web based administration console on the queue.jsp page of Apache ActiveMQ versions 5.0.0 to 5.15.5. The root cause of this issue is improper data filtering of the QueueFilter parameter. | |||||
| CVE-2018-11775 | 2 Apache, Oracle | 3 Activemq, Enterprise Repository, Flexcube Private Banking | 2024-11-21 | 5.8 MEDIUM | 7.4 HIGH |
| TLS hostname verification when using the Apache ActiveMQ Client before 5.15.6 was missing which could make the client vulnerable to a MITM attack between a Java application using the ActiveMQ client and the ActiveMQ server. This is now enabled by default. | |||||
