Quick Emulator (aka QEMU), when built with the Cirrus CLGD 54xx VGA Emulator support, allows local guest OS privileged users to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds access and QEMU process crash) by leveraging incorrect region calculation when updating VGA display.
CVE-2018-7689 1 Opensuse 1 Open Build Service 2024-11-21 4.0 MEDIUM 7.1 HIGH
Lack of permission checks in the InitializeDevelPackage function in openSUSE Open Build Service before 2.9.3 allowed authenticated users to modify packages where they do not have write permissions.
CVE-2018-7688 1 Opensuse 1 Open Build Service 2024-11-21 4.0 MEDIUM 7.1 HIGH
A missing permission check in the review handling of openSUSE Open Build Service before 2.9.3 allowed all authenticated users to modify sources in projects where they do not have write permissions.
CVE-2018-7685 1 Opensuse 1 Libzypp 2024-11-21 4.6 MEDIUM 7.8 HIGH
The decoupled download and installation steps in libzypp before 17.5.0 could lead to a corrupted RPM being left in the cache, where a later call would not display the corrupted RPM warning and allow installation, a problem caused by malicious warnings only displayed during download.
CVE-2018-6954 3 Canonical, Opensuse, Systemd Project 3 Ubuntu Linux, Leap, Systemd 2024-11-21 7.2 HIGH 7.8 HIGH
systemd-tmpfiles in systemd through 237 mishandles symlinks present in non-terminal path components, which allows local users to obtain ownership of arbitrary files via vectors involving creation of a directory and a file under that directory, and later replacing that directory with a symlink. This occurs even if the fs.protected_symlinks sysctl is turned on.
CVE-2018-6556 4 Canonical, Linuxcontainers, Opensuse and 1 more 6 Ubuntu Linux, Lxc, Leap and 3 more 2024-11-21 2.1 LOW 3.3 LOW
lxc-user-nic when asked to delete a network interface will unconditionally open a user provided path. This code path may be used by an unprivileged user to check for the existence of a path which they wouldn't otherwise be able to reach. It may also be used to trigger side effects by causing a (read-only) open of special kernel files (ptmx, proc, sys). Affected releases are LXC: 2.0 versions above and including 2.0.9; 3.0 versions above and including 3.0.0, prior to 3.0.2.
CVE-2018-5740 7 Canonical, Debian, Hp and 4 more 11 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Hp-ux and 8 more 2024-11-21 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
"deny-answer-aliases" is a little-used feature intended to help recursive server operators protect end users against DNS rebinding attacks, a potential method of circumventing the security model used by client browsers. However, a defect in this feature makes it easy, when the feature is in use, to experience an assertion failure in name.c. Affects BIND 9.7.0->9.8.8, 9.9.0->9.9.13, 9.10.0->9.10.8, 9.11.0->9.11.4, 9.12.0->9.12.2, 9.13.0->9.13.2.
CVE-2018-21247 5 Canonical, Debian, Libvnc Project and 2 more 16 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Libvncserver and 13 more 2024-11-21 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
An issue was discovered in LibVNCServer before 0.9.13. There is an information leak (of uninitialized memory contents) in the libvncclient/rfbproto.c ConnectToRFBRepeater function.
CVE-2018-20860 2 Openmpt, Opensuse 2 Libopenmpt, Leap 2024-11-21 4.3 MEDIUM 6.5 MEDIUM
libopenmpt before 0.3.13 allows a crash with malformed MED files.
CVE-2018-20855 3 Linux, Netapp, Opensuse 6 Linux Kernel, Active Iq Performance Analytics Services, Active Iq Unified Manager and 3 more 2024-11-21 2.1 LOW 3.3 LOW
An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel before 4.18.7. In create_qp_common in drivers/infiniband/hw/mlx5/qp.c, mlx5_ib_create_qp_resp was never initialized, resulting in a leak of stack memory to userspace.
CVE-2018-20843 7 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 4 more 9 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 6 more 2024-11-21 7.8 HIGH 7.5 HIGH
In libexpat in Expat before 2.2.7, XML input including XML names that contain a large number of colons could make the XML parser consume a high amount of RAM and CPU resources while processing (enough to be usable for denial-of-service attacks).
CVE-2018-20836 6 Canonical, Debian, F5 and 3 more 13 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Traffix Signaling Delivery Controller and 10 more 2024-11-21 9.3 HIGH 8.1 HIGH
An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel before 4.20. There is a race condition in smp_task_timedout() and smp_task_done() in drivers/scsi/libsas/sas_expander.c, leading to a use-after-free.
CVE-2018-20783 2 Opensuse, Php 2 Leap, Php 2024-11-21 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
In PHP before 5.6.39, 7.x before 7.0.33, 7.1.x before 7.1.25, and 7.2.x before 7.2.13, a buffer over-read in PHAR reading functions may allow an attacker to read allocated or unallocated memory past the actual data when trying to parse a .phar file. This is related to phar_parse_pharfile in ext/phar/phar.c.
CVE-2018-20615 4 Canonical, Haproxy, Opensuse and 1 more 5 Ubuntu Linux, Haproxy, Leap and 2 more 2024-11-21 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
An out-of-bounds read issue was discovered in the HTTP/2 protocol decoder in HAProxy 1.8.x and 1.9.x through 1.9.0 which can result in a crash. The processing of the PRIORITY flag in a HEADERS frame requires 5 extra bytes, and while these bytes are skipped, the total frame length was not re-checked to make sure they were present in the frame.
