CVE-2026-23439 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-15 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: udp_tunnel: fix NULL deref caused by udp_sock_create6 when CONFIG_IPV6=n When CONFIG_IPV6 is disabled, the udp_sock_create6() function returns 0 (success) without actually creating a socket. Callers such as fou_create() then proceed to dereference the uninitialized socket pointer, resulting in a NULL pointer dereference. The captured NULL deref crash: BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 0000000000000018 RIP: 0010:fou_nl_add_doit (net/ipv4/fou_core.c:590 net/ipv4/fou_core.c:764) [...] Call Trace: <TASK> genl_family_rcv_msg_doit.constprop.0 (net/netlink/genetlink.c:1114) genl_rcv_msg (net/netlink/genetlink.c:1194 net/netlink/genetlink.c:1209) [...] netlink_rcv_skb (net/netlink/af_netlink.c:2550) genl_rcv (net/netlink/genetlink.c:1219) netlink_unicast (net/netlink/af_netlink.c:1319 net/netlink/af_netlink.c:1344) netlink_sendmsg (net/netlink/af_netlink.c:1894) __sock_sendmsg (net/socket.c:727 (discriminator 1) net/socket.c:742 (discriminator 1)) __sys_sendto (./include/linux/file.h:62 (discriminator 1) ./include/linux/file.h:83 (discriminator 1) net/socket.c:2183 (discriminator 1)) __x64_sys_sendto (net/socket.c:2213 (discriminator 1) net/socket.c:2209 (discriminator 1) net/socket.c:2209 (discriminator 1)) do_syscall_64 (arch/x86/entry/syscall_64.c:63 (discriminator 1) arch/x86/entry/syscall_64.c:94 (discriminator 1)) entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe (net/arch/x86/entry/entry_64.S:130) This patch makes udp_sock_create6 return -EPFNOSUPPORT instead, so callers correctly take their error paths. There is only one caller of the vulnerable function and only privileged users can trigger it.
CVE-2024-40945 2 Linux, Redhat 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2026-10-15 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iommu: Return right value in iommu_sva_bind_device() iommu_sva_bind_device() should return either a sva bond handle or an ERR_PTR value in error cases. Existing drivers (idxd and uacce) only check the return value with IS_ERR(). This could potentially lead to a kernel NULL pointer dereference issue if the function returns NULL instead of an error pointer. In reality, this doesn't cause any problems because iommu_sva_bind_device() only returns NULL when the kernel is not configured with CONFIG_IOMMU_SVA. In this case, iommu_dev_enable_feature(dev, IOMMU_DEV_FEAT_SVA) will return an error, and the device drivers won't call iommu_sva_bind_device() at all.
CVE-2019-7309 1 Gnu 1 Glibc 2026-10-14 N/A
In the GNU C Library (aka glibc or libc6) through 2.29, the memcmp function for the x32 architecture can incorrectly return zero (indicating that the inputs are equal) because the RDX most significant bit is mishandled.
CVE-2026-97381 2026-10-13 9.9 Critical
Legacy Update is a tool for activating and installing updates on legacy Windows PCs. Legacy Update 1.12.0 through 1.13.1 contains an origin validation error in the IsPermitted method of its ActiveX control. After successfully reading the hosting document's hostname, a hostname that is not on the permitted list falls through without setting E_ACCESSDENIED, causing IsPermitted to return S_OK. An attacker who induces a user to visit a malicious webpage in Internet Explorer can invoke the control to enumerate update and system information, install updates without consent, display dialogs, or restart the computer when a reboot is pending. This issue was fixed in Legacy Update 1.13.2.
CVE-2026-92821 2 Redhat, Sssd 4 Enterprise Linux, Openshift, Openshift Container Platform and 1 more 2026-10-06 6.8 Medium
A flaw was found in SSSD. When configured to evaluate password expiration warnings before restrictive access rules in LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) environments, an expired-password warning terminates rule evaluation early and treats the access request as successful. A remote authenticated user with an expired password using an alternative authentication method, such as SSH public key authentication, can exploit this flaw to bypass access control restrictions and gain unauthorized access to protected systems.
CVE-2026-92834 1 Apache 1 Thrift 2026-10-04 N/A
Use of uninitialized resource, Return of wrong status code vulnerability in Apache Thrift C++ WebSocket server. This issue affects Apache Thrift: before 0.25.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 0.25.0, which fixes the issue.
CVE-2026-85087 1 Apache 1 Thrift 2026-10-02 N/A
Improper certificate validation, Return of wrong status code vulnerability in Apache Thrift python bindings. This issue affects Apache Thrift: before 0.25.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 0.25.0, which fixes the issue.
CVE-2026-85483 1 Apache 1 Thrift 2026-10-02 N/A
Use of uninitialized resource, Return of wrong status code vulnerability in Apache Thrift c_glib bindings. This issue affects Apache Thrift: before 0.25.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 0.25.0, which fixes the issue.
CVE-2026-97914 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-01 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: accel: ethosu: Fix ethosu_job_open() return value A WARN_ON() returns a 0 or 1, not the original negative errno. Just drop the WARN_ON() as the FD open will pass the return code to userspace and there's only one possible source of the error (drm_sched_entity_init()).
CVE-2026-97902 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-25 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fs: don't return -EINVAL for successful nested thaw Commit 7366f8b6fc6a ("fs: handle freezing from multiple devices") replaced the freeze_holders bitmask with per-holder counters to allow nested freezes. In the bitmask version, a thaw that released a shared hold while another holder remained returned 0. Since the rework, thaw_super_locked() drops the freeze reference via freeze_dec() but then returns -EINVAL when other freezers remain, misinforming the caller: the thaw did succeed, the superblock just stays frozen for the remaining holders. This breaks bdev-initiated freezing. When a filesystem is frozen with FIFREEZE and additionally frozen via bdev_freeze() -- which nests by design, see fs_bdev_freeze() -- the subsequent bdev_thaw() receives -EINVAL from the holder op although its freeze reference was dropped, and therefore keeps bd_fsfreeze_count elevated. Then device-mapper's unlock_fs() ignores bdev_thaw()'s return value, so nothing rebalances the count. After the user's FITHAW and umount, the block device can never be mounted again: dm-1: Can't mount, blockdev is frozen There is no way for userspace to drop the leaked count; only destroying the block device (or a reboot) recovers the device. Reproducer (any kernel since v6.8): dmsetup create dut --table "0 $(blockdev --getsz "$DEV") linear $DEV 0" mkfs.ext4 /dev/mapper/dut mount /dev/mapper/dut /mnt fsfreeze --freeze /mnt # freeze_ucount == 1 dmsetup suspend dut # bd_fsfreeze_count == 1, ucount == 2 dmsetup resume dut # ucount 2 -> 1, but thaw_super() # returns -EINVAL, so bdev_thaw() # keeps bd_fsfreeze_count at 1 fsfreeze --unfreeze /mnt # filesystem thaws fine umount /mnt mount /dev/mapper/dut /mnt # EBUSY, forever The same happens with fsfreeze held across an LVM snapshot of the origin volume. fs_bdev_thaw()'s documentation already describes the intended semantics: "If this function returns zero it doesn't mean that the filesystem is unfrozen as it may have been frozen multiple times". Restore them by returning 0 when a nested thaw drops its hold while other freezers remain. Thawing without holding a freeze still fails with -EINVAL as may_unfreeze() rejects that case before the reference count is touched.
CVE-2026-97589 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-25 7 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: s390/crypto: Fix wrong return code to engine in asynch callbacks When crypto_finalize_hash_request() or crypto_finalize_skcipher_request() explicitly completes a request, the do_one_request callback must return 0 to indicate successful handling. Returning a negative error code causes the crypto engine to assume the driver failed to take ownership and triggers a second completion via crypto_request_complete(), resulting in a double completion. This pattern occurs in paes_s390.c 4 times and once in phmac_s390.c. Fixed in phmac_do_one_request() and all four paes do_one_request callbacks (ecb, cbc, ctr, xts) by returning 0 after explicit finalization instead of propagating the error code.
CVE-2026-97588 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-25 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: s390/crypto: Map EBUSY to EIO when key conversion fails repeatedly When hardware persistently returns -EBUSY after exhausting retries, the error propagates to crypto_finalize_*_request(). The crypto API's completion wrapper treats -EBUSY as a queueing status and swallows it, preventing the completion callback from firing. This causes callers using crypto_wait_req() to block indefinitely. Translate persistent -EBUSY to -EIO after retry exhaustion to ensure proper error propagation and callback invocation.
CVE-2025-5987 2 Libssh, Redhat 6 Libssh, Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Eus and 3 more 2026-08-31 8.1 High
A flaw was found in libssh when using the ChaCha20 cipher with the OpenSSL library. If an attacker manages to exhaust the heap space, this error is not detected and may lead to libssh using a partially initialized cipher context. This occurs because the OpenSSL error code returned aliases with the SSH_OK code, resulting in libssh not properly detecting the error returned by the OpenSSL library. This issue can lead to undefined behavior, including compromised data confidentiality and integrity or crashes.
CVE-2026-53092 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-23 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Fix linked reg delta tracking when src_reg == dst_reg Consider the case of rX += rX where src_reg and dst_reg are pointers to the same bpf_reg_state in adjust_reg_min_max_vals(). The latter first modifies the dst_reg in-place, and later in the delta tracking, the subsequent is_reg_const(src_reg)/reg_const_value(src_reg) reads the post-{add,sub} value instead of the original source. This is problematic since it sets an incorrect delta, which sync_linked_regs() then propagates to linked registers, thus creating a verifier-vs-runtime mismatch. Fix it by just skipping this corner case.
CVE-2026-72067 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-18 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cpu: hotplug: Preserve per instance callback errors cpuhp_invoke_callback() unwinds earlier callbacks for the same hotplug state when one instance fails. The rollback path currently reuses ret, so a successful rollback can hide the original error and make the failed transition look successful. Keep the rollback result separate from the original error.
CVE-2026-72374 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-17 7.5 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: afs: Fix callback service message parsers to pass through -EAGAIN The AFS filesystem client uses an rxrpc server to listen for callback notifications. Each callback call type handler has a delivery function that parses the incoming request stream, and this should return -EAGAIN the last packet hasn't yet been seen, but all currently queued received data is consumed. afs_extract_data() does this, but the -EAGAIN return is switched to 0 inadvertantly Fix callback service message parsers to pass through -EAGAIN
CVE-2026-64148 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-17 7.5 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: pds_core: fix error handling in pdsc_devcmd_wait Fix two cases where pdsc_devcmd_wait() returns stale success from the completion register instead of an error: 1. FW crash: If firmware stops running, the wait loop breaks early with running=false. The condition "if ((!done || timeout) && running)" is false, so error handling is bypassed and stale status is returned. Check !running first and return -ENXIO. 2. Timeout: If a command times out, err is set to -ETIMEDOUT but then overwritten by pdsc_err_to_errno(status) which reads stale status. Return -ETIMEDOUT immediately after cleaning up. Both errors now propagate to pdsc_devcmd_locked() which queues health_work for recovery.
CVE-2024-42296 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-04 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: f2fs: fix return value of f2fs_convert_inline_inode() If device is readonly, make f2fs_convert_inline_inode() return EROFS instead of zero, otherwise it may trigger panic during writeback of inline inode's dirty page as below: f2fs_write_single_data_page+0xbb6/0x1e90 fs/f2fs/data.c:2888 f2fs_write_cache_pages fs/f2fs/data.c:3187 [inline] __f2fs_write_data_pages fs/f2fs/data.c:3342 [inline] f2fs_write_data_pages+0x1efe/0x3a90 fs/f2fs/data.c:3369 do_writepages+0x359/0x870 mm/page-writeback.c:2634 filemap_fdatawrite_wbc+0x125/0x180 mm/filemap.c:397 __filemap_fdatawrite_range mm/filemap.c:430 [inline] file_write_and_wait_range+0x1aa/0x290 mm/filemap.c:788 f2fs_do_sync_file+0x68a/0x1ae0 fs/f2fs/file.c:276 generic_write_sync include/linux/fs.h:2806 [inline] f2fs_file_write_iter+0x7bd/0x24e0 fs/f2fs/file.c:4977 call_write_iter include/linux/fs.h:2114 [inline] new_sync_write fs/read_write.c:497 [inline] vfs_write+0xa72/0xc90 fs/read_write.c:590 ksys_write+0x1a0/0x2c0 fs/read_write.c:643 do_syscall_x64 arch/x86/entry/common.c:52 [inline] do_syscall_64+0xf5/0x240 arch/x86/entry/common.c:83 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x77/0x7f
CVE-2024-42284 2 Linux, Redhat 3 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Eus 2026-08-04 9.1 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tipc: Return non-zero value from tipc_udp_addr2str() on error tipc_udp_addr2str() should return non-zero value if the UDP media address is invalid. Otherwise, a buffer overflow access can occur in tipc_media_addr_printf(). Fix this by returning 1 on an invalid UDP media address.
CVE-2024-26584 2 Linux, Redhat 6 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Aus and 3 more 2026-08-04 9.8 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: tls: handle backlogging of crypto requests Since we're setting the CRYPTO_TFM_REQ_MAY_BACKLOG flag on our requests to the crypto API, crypto_aead_{encrypt,decrypt} can return -EBUSY instead of -EINPROGRESS in valid situations. For example, when the cryptd queue for AESNI is full (easy to trigger with an artificially low cryptd.cryptd_max_cpu_qlen), requests will be enqueued to the backlog but still processed. In that case, the async callback will also be called twice: first with err == -EINPROGRESS, which it seems we can just ignore, then with err == 0. Compared to Sabrina's original patch this version uses the new tls_*crypt_async_wait() helpers and converts the EBUSY to EINPROGRESS to avoid having to modify all the error handling paths. The handling is identical.
