| FrankenPHP is a modern application server for PHP. Prior to 1.12.5, FrankenPHP worker mode can retain PHP session state between requests when the session extension is loaded as a shared module and is unavailable through HAVE_PHP_SESSION at compile time. In this build configuration, frankenphp_reset_session_state() is compiled out, PS(id) can survive a request boundary, and a subsequent session_start() can ignore the new request's cookie because an identifier is already present. Under concurrent requests, session_id() can therefore return another client's identifier or a stale identifier from a previous request on the same worker thread, causing cross-user session exposure, possible session hijacking, and intermittent logout behavior. Builds with the session extension statically linked, including the official static binaries and Docker images, are not affected. This issue is fixed in version 1.12.5. |
| Race condition in the Networking: DNS component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 158 and Thunderbird 158. |
| XSA-501 was about issues with v1 -> v2 and v2 -> v1 changes racing certain
other grant table operations. Sadly a v2 -> v1 -> v2 change has yet
another effect which wasn't accounted for: During the first change, status
pages would be freed. During the second change they would be allocated
again. Hence across the full pair of change the addresses of the status
pages may change, rendering stale previously calculated pointers into the
status array. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
hwmon: (lm90) Stop work before releasing hwmon device
Sashiko reports:
In lm90_probe(), the devm action to cancel the alert_work and report_work
(lm90_restore_conf) is registered in lm90_init_client() before
devm_hwmon_device_register_with_info() is called.
Because devm executes cleanup actions in reverse order during module
unbind or probe failure, the hwmon device is unregistered and freed first.
If lm90_alert_work() or lm90_report_alarms() runs in the window between
the hwmon device being freed and the delayed works being cancelled,
lm90_update_alarms() will dereference the freed data->hwmon_dev here.
Fix the problem by canceling the workers separately after registering
the hwmon device and before registering the interrupt handler. This ensures
that the workers are canceled after interrupts are disabled and before
the hwmon device is released. Add "shutdown" flag to indicate that device
shutdown is in progress to prevent workers from being re-armed. |
| A weakness has been identified in meetecho janus-gateway up to 1.4.2. This affects an unknown part of the file src/plugins/janus_videoroom.c of the component VideoRoom. This manipulation causes race condition. Remote exploitation of the attack is possible. The attack's complexity is rated as high. It is indicated that the exploitability is difficult. The exploit has been made available to the public and could be used for attacks. Patch name: 27c0d1af888153e818675b56a4e6267f62d57097. Applying a patch is the recommended action to fix this issue. The vendor was contacted early, responded in a very professional manner and quickly released a fixed version of the affected product. |
| Parse Server 5.4.0 before 8.6.96 and 9.0.0 before 9.10.2-alpha.5 shares transactional batch state across concurrent requests, letting any client's transactional batch request interfere with other clients' database writes. On PostgreSQL or MongoDB replica sets and sharded clusters, other clients' acknowledged writes are rolled back if the batch fails, and PostgreSQL transactions can remain open indefinitely, causing subsequent writes to fail. |
| ImageMagick before 6.9.13-57 and 7.x before 7.1.2-32 lacks proper synchronization when the security policy is accessed, so simultaneous reads and writes of the policy by multiple threads trigger a race condition that causes a heap buffer over-write. An attacker able to induce concurrent security policy access can crash the application, causing a denial of service. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
erofs: fix managed cache race for unaligned extents
After unaligned compressed extents were introduced, the following race
could occur:
[Thread 1] [Thread 2]
(z_erofs_fill_bio_vec)
<handle a Z_EROFS_PREALLOCATED_FOLIO folio>
...
filemap_add_folio (1)
(z_erofs_bind_cache)
<the same folio is found..>
..
..
folio_attach_private (2)
filemap_add_folio (3) again
Since (1) is executed but (2) hasn't been executed yet, it's possible
that another thread finds the same managed folio in z_erofs_bind_cache()
for a different pcluster and calls filemap_add_folio() again since
folio->private is still Z_EROFS_PREALLOCATED_FOLIO.
Fix this by explicitly clearing folio->private before making the folio
visible in the managed cache so that another pcluster can simply wait
on the locked managed folio as what we did for other shared cases [1].
This only impacts unaligned data compression (`-E48bit` with zstd,
for example).
[1] Commit 9e2f9d34dd12 ("erofs: handle overlapped pclusters out of
crafted images properly") was originally introduced to handle crafted
overlapped extents, but it addresses unaligned extents as well. |
| Race condition in Chromoting in Google Chrome prior to 155.0.8059.39 allowed a remote attacker leveraging social engineering to potentially bypass system access restrictions via crafted network traffic. (Chromium security severity: Low) |
| FreeRDP 3.0.0 before 3.32.0 contains a heap use-after-free vulnerability in smartcard emulation when SCARD_IOCTL_DISCONNECT and SCARD_IOCTL_TRANSMIT operate concurrently on one card handle. A malicious RDP server can overlap these IRPs through separate context workers to free and reuse the SCardHandle, causing client-process heap corruption and termination. |
