We have already fixed the vulnerability in the following version:
Qsync Central 5.0.0.6 and later
Qsync Central 5.1.0.2 and later
Qsync Central 5.2.0.4 and later |
| Path Traversal (CWE-22) in the execute_obj function of the archive object viewer (peach.pas) in PeaZip 11.2.0 and earlier on Windows allows an attacker who convinces a victim to preview an entry of a crafted archive via the "Preview with... -> Associated application" action (Shift+Ctrl+O) to execute an arbitrary program already present on the victim's system, with no warning dialog. The function validates only outname (PeaZip's own temporary directory) with checkfiledirname, while the string actually executed is the concatenation outname+tempstring; tempstring is taken verbatim from the archive entry name (StringGridList.Cells[12,...]) and is never validated. checkfiledirname (list_utils.pas) rejects control and reserved characters in the file name but performs no ".." path-containment check, so an entry named ../../../../Windows/System32/calc.exe escapes the extraction directory and is passed to cp_open -> ShellExecuteW; the extracting backend (7-Zip) strips the traversal while the opener does not. In addition, the SECEXTCONST dangerous-extension confirmation prompt is implemented only in the double-click handler (grid_obj_open) and not on this preview route, so an executable inside an archive reaches ShellExecuteW unannounced, and where the prompt does fire it names the entry's display name rather than the resolved path that will run. Arbitrary code execution was demonstrated with a proof of concept against official PeaZip builds, confirmed on two archive formats (.zip and .tar) to show the defect is in PeaZip's own path handling and not in a single format parser. |
| Hugo from v0.84.0 before v0.167.0 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows malicious themes or modules to read files outside the project root via ESBuild's fallback resolver in js.Build, js.Batch, and css.Build. Attackers can ship relative imports or symlinks pointing outside the project to bundle any file readable by the build user into published JavaScript or CSS output. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ksmbd: prevent path traversal bypass by restricting caseless retry
ksmbd_vfs_path_lookup() enforces LOOKUP_BENEATH to restrict path
resolution within the share root. When a crafted path attempts to
escape the share boundary using parent-directory components ('..'),
vfs_path_parent_lookup() detects this and immediately fails,
returning -EXDEV.
However, a bug exists in __ksmbd_vfs_kern_path() under caseless mode.
The function fails to intercept the -EXDEV error and erroneously
falls through to the caseless retry logic, which is intended only
for genuinely missing files. During this retry process, the path
is reconstructed, leading to an unintended LOOKUP_BENEATH bypass
that allows write-capable users to create zero-length files or
directories outside the exported share.
Fix this by ensuring that the execution only proceeds to the caseless
lookup retry when the error is specifically -ENOENT. Any other errors,
such as -EXDEV from a path traversal attempt, must be returned immediately. |
| A path traversal vulnerability has been reported to affect Video Station. If a remote attacker gains a user account, they can then exploit the vulnerability to read the contents of unexpected files or system data.
We have already fixed the vulnerability in the following version:
Video Station 5.8.5 and later |
| The Ultimate Multisite WordPress plugin before 2.17.2 does not validate a user-supplied value used to select a file to include, allowing unauthenticated attackers to include and read arbitrary local files, including the WordPress configuration file. |
| FreeRDP before 3.32.0 contains a path traversal vulnerability in convert_filedescriptors_to_file_list() in winpr/libwinpr/clipboard/synthetic_file.c, which concatenates server-supplied cFileName values from FileGroupDescriptorW clipboard data into the published local file:// URI without rejecting '/' or '..' sequences. A malicious RDP server can supply '../' sequences so the user's next clipboard paste copies an arbitrary local file readable by the client user instead of the expected remote file. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ext4: avoid allocating blocks from corrupted group in ext4_mb_try_best_found()
Determine if the group block bitmap is corrupted before using ac_b_ex in
ext4_mb_try_best_found() to avoid allocating blocks from a group with a
corrupted block bitmap in the following concurrency and making the
situation worse.
ext4_mb_regular_allocator
ext4_lock_group(sb, group)
ext4_mb_good_group
// check if the group bbitmap is corrupted
ext4_mb_complex_scan_group
// Scan group gets ac_b_ex but doesn't use it
ext4_unlock_group(sb, group)
ext4_mark_group_bitmap_corrupted(group)
// The block bitmap was corrupted during
// the group unlock gap.
ext4_mb_try_best_found
ext4_lock_group(ac->ac_sb, group)
ext4_mb_use_best_found
mb_mark_used
// Allocating blocks in block bitmap corrupted group |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ext4: avoid allocating blocks from corrupted group in ext4_mb_find_by_goal()
Places the logic for checking if the group's block bitmap is corrupt under
the protection of the group lock to avoid allocating blocks from the group
with a corrupted block bitmap. |
| Payload is a free and open source headless content management system. In versions before 3.90.0 and canary versions before 4.0.0-canary.34, an authenticated user who can update or delete uploads stored locally can cause file cleanup to remove unintended files outside the configured upload directory, resulting in data loss or service disruption. Deployments that restrict upload management to trusted users are less exposed. This issue is fixed in versions 3.90.0 and 4.0.0-canary.34. |
| IBM DataStage on Cloud Pak for Data 5.4.0.0 could allow a remote authenticated attacker to cause a denial of service due to a path traversal vulnerability. |
| IBM DataStage on Cloud Pak for Data 5.4.0.0 could allow a remote authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code due to improper validation of pathname during a path traversal. |
| MOOS-IvP through 24.8.1 fails to properly validate variable names extracted from alog files in the SplitHandler, allowing attackers to write files outside the split directory. Attackers can supply crafted alog files with backslash sequences in variable names to escape the output directory and append to arbitrary files on Windows systems. |
| A path traversal vulnerability exists in curl <8.0.0 SFTP implementation causes the tilde (~) character to be wrongly replaced when used as a prefix in the first path element, in addition to its intended use as the first element to indicate a path relative to the user's home directory. Attackers can exploit this flaw to bypass filtering or execute arbitrary code by crafting a path like /~2/foo while accessing a server with a specific user. |
| The Mapper component in Apache Tomcat 6.x before 6.0.45, 7.x before 7.0.68, 8.x before 8.0.30, and 9.x before 9.0.0.M2 processes redirects before considering security constraints and Filters, which allows remote attackers to determine the existence of a directory via a URL that lacks a trailing / (slash) character. |
| Directory traversal vulnerability in RequestUtil.java in Apache Tomcat 6.x before 6.0.45, 7.x before 7.0.65, and 8.x before 8.0.27 allows remote authenticated users to bypass intended SecurityManager restrictions and list a parent directory via a /.. (slash dot dot) in a pathname used by a web application in a getResource, getResourceAsStream, or getResourcePaths call, as demonstrated by the $CATALINA_BASE/webapps directory. |
| Khronos NNEF-Tools nnef through 1.0.10 and nnef-tools through 1.0.11 contain a path traversal vulnerability that allows attackers to write files outside the model directory via crafted variable labels. Attackers can supply a graph.nnef with '../' sequences or absolute paths in labels to create or overwrite '.dat' files when users convert, save, or generate weights. |
| Janus WebRTC Server through 1.4.3 contains a path traversal vulnerability in the Record&Play plugin that allows unauthenticated attackers to write files outside recordings_path via the record request filename. Attackers can supply filenames with path separators to create or truncate files ending in -audio.mjr, -video.mjr or -data.mjr anywhere the Janus process can write outside protected folders. |
| IBM Guardium Data Protection 12.2 could allow a remote authenticated attacker to cause a denial of service due to a path traversal vulnerability. |
