CVE-2021-44142 6 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 3 more 23 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 20 more 2025-04-23 9.0 HIGH 8.8 HIGH
The Samba vfs_fruit module uses extended file attributes (EA, xattr) to provide "...enhanced compatibility with Apple SMB clients and interoperability with a Netatalk 3 AFP fileserver." Samba versions prior to 4.13.17, 4.14.12 and 4.15.5 with vfs_fruit configured allow out-of-bounds heap read and write via specially crafted extended file attributes. A remote attacker with write access to extended file attributes can execute arbitrary code with the privileges of smbd, typically root.
CVE-2018-1000156 4 Canonical, Debian, Gnu and 1 more 9 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Patch and 6 more 2025-04-14 6.8 MEDIUM 7.8 HIGH
GNU Patch version 2.7.6 contains an input validation vulnerability when processing patch files, specifically the EDITOR_PROGRAM invocation (using ed) can result in code execution. This attack appear to be exploitable via a patch file processed via the patch utility. This is similar to FreeBSD's CVE-2015-1418 however although they share a common ancestry the code bases have diverged over time.
CVE-2019-6470 3 Isc, Opensuse, Redhat 19 Dhcpd, Leap, Enterprise Linux and 16 more 2025-04-11 5.0 MEDIUM 6.5 MEDIUM
There had existed in one of the ISC BIND libraries a bug in a function that was used by dhcpd when operating in DHCPv6 mode. There was also a bug in dhcpd relating to the use of this function per its documentation, but the bug in the library function prevented this from causing any harm. All releases of dhcpd from ISC contain copies of this, and other, BIND libraries in combinations that have been tested prior to release and are known to not present issues like this. Some third-party packagers of ISC software have modified the dhcpd source, BIND source, or version matchup in ways that create the crash potential. Based on reports available to ISC, the crash probability is large and no analysis has been done on how, or even if, the probability can be manipulated by an attacker. Affects: Builds of dhcpd versions prior to version 4.4.1 when using BIND versions 9.11.2 or later, or BIND versions with specific bug fixes backported to them. ISC does not have access to comprehensive version lists for all repackagings of dhcpd that are vulnerable. In particular, builds from other vendors may also be affected. Operators are advised to consult their vendor documentation.
CVE-2022-4254 2 Fedoraproject, Redhat 13 Sssd, Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Desktop and 10 more 2025-03-27 N/A 8.8 HIGH
sssd: libsss_certmap fails to sanitise certificate data used in LDAP filters

A vulnerability was found in X.Org. This issue occurs due to a dangling pointer in DeepCopyPointerClasses that can be exploited by ProcXkbSetDeviceInfo() and ProcXkbGetDeviceInfo() to read and write into freed memory. This can lead to local privilege elevation on systems where the X server runs privileged and remote code execution for ssh X forwarding sessions.
CVE-2024-1062 2 Fedoraproject, Redhat 13 Fedora, 389 Directory Server, Directory Server and 10 more 2025-02-18 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
A heap overflow flaw was found in 389-ds-base. This issue leads to a denial of service when writing a value larger than 256 chars in log_entry_attr.
CVE-2024-1488 2 Fedoraproject, Redhat 19 Unbound, Codeready Linux Builder, Codeready Linux Builder Eus and 16 more 2025-01-30 N/A 8.0 HIGH
A vulnerability was found in Unbound due to incorrect default permissions, allowing any process outside the unbound group to modify the unbound runtime configuration. If a process can connect over localhost to port 8953, it can alter the configuration of unbound.service. This flaw allows an unprivileged attacker to manipulate a running instance, potentially altering forwarders, allowing them to track all queries forwarded by the local resolver, and, in some cases, disrupting resolving altogether.
CVE-2023-2203 2 Redhat, Webkitgtk 5 Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Eus, Enterprise Linux Server Aus and 2 more 2025-01-22 N/A 8.8 HIGH
A flaw was found in the WebKitGTK package. An improper input validation issue may lead to a use-after-free vulnerability. This flaw allows attackers with network access to pass specially crafted web content files, causing a denial of service or arbitrary code execution. This CVE exists because of a CVE-2023-28205 security regression for the WebKitGTK package in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.8 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.2.
CVE-2023-2491 2 Gnu, Redhat 5 Emacs, Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Eus and 2 more 2025-01-22 N/A 7.8 HIGH
A flaw was found in the Emacs text editor. Processing a specially crafted org-mode code with the "org-babel-execute:latex" function in ob-latex.el can result in arbitrary command execution. This CVE exists because of a CVE-2023-28617 security regression for the emacs package in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.8 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.2.
CVE-2023-2295 2 Libreswan, Redhat 5 Libreswan, Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Eus and 2 more 2025-01-22 N/A 7.5 HIGH
A vulnerability was found in the libreswan library. This security issue occurs when an IKEv1 Aggressive Mode packet is received with only unacceptable crypto algorithms, and the response packet is not sent with a zero responder SPI. When a subsequent packet is received where the sender reuses the libreswan responder SPI as its own initiator SPI, the pluto daemon state machine crashes. No remote code execution is possible. This CVE exists because of a CVE-2023-30570 security regression for libreswan package in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.8 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.2.
CVE-2017-18017 9 Arista, Canonical, Debian and 6 more 29 Eos, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 26 more 2025-01-03 10.0 HIGH 9.8 CRITICAL
The tcpmss_mangle_packet function in net/netfilter/xt_TCPMSS.c in the Linux kernel before 4.11, and 4.9.x before 4.9.36, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (use-after-free and memory corruption) or possibly have unspecified other impact by leveraging the presence of xt_TCPMSS in an iptables action.
CVE-2018-12121 2 Nodejs, Redhat 8 Node.js, Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Desktop and 5 more 2024-12-27 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
Node.js: All versions prior to Node.js 6.15.0, 8.14.0, 10.14.0 and 11.3.0: Denial of Service with large HTTP headers: By using a combination of many requests with maximum sized headers (almost 80 KB per connection), and carefully timed completion of the headers, it is possible to cause the HTTP server to abort from heap allocation failure. Attack potential is mitigated by the use of a load balancer or other proxy layer.
CVE-2023-46846 2 Redhat, Squid-cache 8 Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Eus, Enterprise Linux For Arm 64 and 5 more 2024-12-18 N/A 9.3 CRITICAL
SQUID is vulnerable to HTTP request smuggling, caused by chunked decoder lenience, allows a remote attacker to perform Request/Response smuggling past firewall and frontend security systems.
CVE-2023-46848 2 Redhat, Squid-cache 5 Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Eus, Enterprise Linux Server Aus and 2 more 2024-11-21 N/A 8.6 HIGH
Squid is vulnerable to Denial of Service, where a remote attacker can perform DoS by sending ftp:// URLs in HTTP Request messages or constructing ftp:// URLs from FTP Native input.
CVE-2023-46847 2 Redhat, Squid-cache 10 Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Eus, Enterprise Linux For Arm 64 and 7 more 2024-11-21 N/A 8.6 HIGH
Squid is vulnerable to a Denial of Service, where a remote attacker can perform buffer overflow attack by writing up to 2 MB of arbitrary data to heap memory when Squid is configured to accept HTTP Digest Authentication.
CVE-2023-3972 1 Redhat 19 Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Aus, Enterprise Linux Desktop and 16 more 2024-11-21 N/A 7.8 HIGH
A vulnerability was found in insights-client. This security issue occurs because of insecure file operations or unsafe handling of temporary files and directories that lead to local privilege escalation. Before the insights-client has been registered on the system by root, an unprivileged local user or attacker could create the /var/tmp/insights-client directory (owning the directory with read, write, and execute permissions) on the system. After the insights-client is registered by root, an attacker could then control the directory content that insights are using by putting malicious scripts into it and executing arbitrary code as root (trivially bypassing SELinux protections because insights processes are allowed to disable SELinux system-wide).
